  • The School’s sports clinical residency program has just been credentialed by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

  • With nearly 150 new students admitted in this fall’s cohort in the tDPT curriculum, the total enrollment, including the first classes of graduates, has now exceeded 600 across the nine cohorts in the program that was initiated in the fall of 2008.

  • In the past year we consolidated our clinics, which underwent a significant physical renovation; we have likewise rebranded the associated efforts in the School to reflect our singular identity, UMPT.

"A consistent strength of UM students is that they are well prepared to understand the need for and utilize evidence-based practice."

Application Requirements

The University of Montana is again participating this year in the centralized application service (PTCAS) for first-time physical therapy students along with 110 other schools in the US, and virtually all of the schools in the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain states.

In this system, applicants need only fill out a centralized application once for all the schools to which they wish to apply, along with a short supplemental application specific to The University of Montana’s School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science.  At UM, the application will be launched July 2nd.  Our application period therefore will change to July 2nd through October 15th, 2012 for both our supplemental application and the PTCAS application.  The PTCAS application can be found at www.PTCAS.org.
